Hamid Kumar Mahapatra

Hamid Kumar Mahapatra from Belpahar, Jharsuguda, Odisha, is a dedicated Physical Education Teacher, Sports Coach, Environmentalist, and Social Worker with over 24 years of experience. Associated with Belpahar English Medium School, he has trained and mentored hundreds of young sportspersons, with more than 400 students participating in National-level Games and Sports competitions under his guidance. As a Master Trainer for the Olympic Values Education Programme (OVEP), he promotes excellence, friendship, respect, and sportsmanship among students and teachers across Odisha. He also serves as Western Odisha Coordinator for the Physical Education Foundation of India. Through his initiative, Mission Plantation with Fitness (MPF), he combines fitness, cycling, plantation, and environmental awareness. His Prakruti Bandhu, Prakruti Mitra, and Earth Hero recognitions reflect his inspiring commitment to a healthier, fitter, and greener society.
