Srinivas Konidana

Srinivas Konidana from Khammam, Telangana, is a self-taught environmentalist, organic farming practitioner, and community educator dedicated to biodiversity conservation and sustainable living. Beginning with a modest terrace garden, he has created an impressive urban biodiversity ecosystem featuring more than 110 varieties of fruit plants, vegetables, medicinal and ornamental species, orchids, rare plants, composting systems, and a fish pond. He regularly conducts free training programmes, distributes seeds and saplings, and visits schools and colleges to promote organic farming, kitchen gardening, composting, and environmental conservation. Through his “Sri Nilayam” initiative and gardening community, he mentors hundreds of enthusiasts. His work has received government recognition, including the Telangana Horticulture Department’s Golden Award, along with several 2026 honours for environmental and social impact.
